THE roasting of media personality Minnie Dlamini is fast approaching and the panel that will roast her has been released.

A statement said the line-up is star-studded with two acclaimed TV broadcasters, an award-winning Youtuber, an actor and activist, a hard-hitting journalist, a South African rapper and two local comedy greats.

"At the helm of the Roast Masters are comedy heavyweights Tumi Morake and Jason Goliath – both of whom will ensure that the jokes and jabs only go below the belt. The selected panellists are Trevor Gumbi, Shahan Ramkissoon, Celeste Ntuli, Lasizwe, Penny Lebyane, Da L.E.S, Siv Ngesi and Robert Marawa," reads the statement.

The Showmax Roast of Minnie Dlamini, which marks the first day of the highly anticipated Laugh Africa Comedy Festival, will be recorded live on 5 April 2024 and airs exclusively on Showmax from 26 April 2024.

Stuart Taylor, Creative Director of Laugh Africa Comedy Festival, said: "Putting together this panel was a nerve-wracking yet exciting task, a cocktail of chaos wrapped in laughter, affection and a celebration of the one and only Minnie Dlamini. Thank you to everyone who joined me on this roller-coaster ride!"

Laura Cooke, Head of PR & Communications at Showmax, said: "African-influenced comedy and entertainment is part of what Showmax is all about. So, there's no doubt that Minnie Dlamini's roast will delight our audiences across the continent."
