The Gers are said to be the latest European team to have registered an interest in signing the 19-year-old, with manager Philippe Clement believed to be looking to shape the side in his own image when the next transfer window comes around.

It has been claimed other clubs in England are also interested in the player following his trial at Wolves, with Championship team Reading said to be among them.

Egyptian giants Al Ahly and Red Bull Salzburg are also among the clubs believed to be interested in acquiring the young South African's services.

It is understood that the attentive parties view the midfielder's versatile nature as an added benefit for their respective squads, with teenager able to play on the wing too.

Mofokeng has made 34 appearances across all competitions for the Buccaneers so far this season, contributing with four goals and six assists.

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana star Siphiwe Tshabalala, speaking to KickOff late last year, had some high praise for the player and encouraged him to go abroad "when the opportunity arises".
