Cape Town - Mashrafe Mortaza has won the toss and elected to bat in the first One Day International (ODI) between the Proteas and Bangladesh at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley.
The visitors are without pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman and Tamim Iqbal due to injuries.
David Miller will be playing in his 100th ODI for the Proteas while Dane Paterson will be making his debut.
Bangladesh will be looking for an improved showing in the shorter format of the game after the Proteas gave them a drubbing in the Test series, easily winning 2-0.
