De Bruyn hits ton for Titans

Johannesburg - Theunis de Bruyn recorded his fourth career century as the Unlimited Titans and Sunfoil Dolphins ended a shortened day three of their Sunfoil Series clash with honours even at Sahara Park Willowmoore on Saturday.

The 23-year-old rookie struck a fine 123 from 179 deliveries in Benoni, helping his side reach 440 all out.

The visitors then reached 65 for one before bad light stopped play shortly after tea when only 5.2 overs were possible - the Durban side still trailing by 18 runs with only three sessions remaining.

The hosts had started the day on 267 for two and poised for an even bigger total. But De Bruyn's wicket before lunch engineered a major collapse as they fell from 394 for three to be all out in 125.2 overs.

Keshav Maharaj was the best of the bowlers with five for 103, his 10th career five-wicket haul, while Craig Alexander bagged four for 101.

The Dolphins lost Divan van Wyk early on for two, before an unbroken 58-run stand between Vaughn van Jaarsveld (32) and Imraan Khan (30) took them to stumps.
