Li wins Volvo China Open

Cape Town - China's Li Haotong fired a closing bogey-free 64 to win the Volvo China Open by three shots at the Topwin Golf and Country Club on Sunday.

He began the day two shots behind leaders Felipe Aguilar of Chile and Denmark's Lucas Bjerregaard to eventually tie the lead on the 16th. Aguilar then double-bogeyed the 16th hole for Li to lead by two shots on the 17th tee.

Li then birdied the 17th to go 22-under-par and parred the 18th to finish with a round of 64 and a total of 266 for a three shot victory and a first European title. 

Aguilar parred the 17th and 18th to finish at 19-under-par with a final round of 69 and a total of 269.

The Chilean had held a two-stroke lead at the turn after birdies on the first, third, fifth and seventh, while the 20-year-old Li also turned in 32, before making birdies on the 10th, 11th, 15th and 17th. 

In third place on 18-under-par were three players - Bjerregaard scoring a 70, England's Richard Bland and Marcel Siem of Germany, who both carded final rounds of 66.

Next were Sweden's Peter Hanson, Scott Hend of Australia and Scotland's Richie Ramsay on 17-under, a shot clear of Paraguay's Fabrizio Zanotti, Borja Virto Astudillo of Spain, American David Lipsky and Alex Noren of Sweden.
