Oosthuizen gives World Super 6 the seal of approval

Cape Town - South African golfer Louis Oosthuizen is back and couldn't be more happier with his performance at the World Super 6 event in Perth.

Oosthuizen headlined and participated in his first event for 2017 at inaugural World Super 6 Perth, which saw Australian Brett Rumford capturing the historic victory on Sunday.

The 2010 Open Championship winner lost his quarter-final playoff to Australian Adam Bland and finished fifth overall for the weekend.

Ranked 25 in the world, Oosthuizen believes that this new golf tournament could be popular event in the European Tour calendar, although a few changes still need to be made.

"I think they've got a good concept," Oosthuizen told the Telegraph.

"A few tweaks here and there would make it really good, but it's nerve-racking standing on that little 66-metre hole.

"It's nice pressure and good fun."

Oosthuizen pocketed a cool €53 490 (R744 403.25) for his efforts and will looking to continue this momentum leading up to Augusta in April.

"It's great to be back. I've done a lot of reflection these past few months after last year," said Oosthuizen.

"I had a tough year (in 2016) and didn't see my family that much, only four weeks in six months. It was a gruelling six months but I'm back and I couldn't be happier."

Oosthuizen will play his next event on Thursday, February 23 at the Honda Classic in Palm Beach, Florida.
