Cape Town - Springbok prop Wilco Louw has reportedly signed a deal that will keep him at Western Province and the Stormers for at least the next three seasons.
According to Netwerk24, Louw has signed a deal with the Capetonians until 2020.
The news will be welcomed by WP and Springbok fans as the 23-year-old is tipped by many to have a bright future.
The tighthead prop made his Test debut for the Springboks against the All Blacks at Newlands earlier this month when he replaced Ruan Dreyer in the second half.
Dreyer found the going tough and conceded a few penalties, with the Bok scrum appearing more stable once Louw came on. The All Blacks narrowly won the Test 25-24.
Louw has been on Western Province’s books since 2015, having spent two seasons (2013 and 2014) at the Blue Bulls.
He was schooled HTS Drostdy in Worcester and represented Boland at junior level.
*When contacted by Sport24 regarding the Louw signing, a WP Rugby spokesperson could not confirm whether the player had signed a new deal, but said that "all contract extensions would be confirmed by the union in due course".
