Bookies predict Sharks v Lions Currie Cup final

Cape Town - This year's Currie Cup final will be contested between the Sharks and Golden Lions, if local bookmakers are to be believed...

The tournament semi-finals take place this weekend, with the Sharks hosting the Blue Bulls at Kings Park and Western Province hosting the Lions at Newlands.

Somewhat surprisingly, local bookmakers Sportingbet have the Lions as 13/20 favourites to beat Western Province, who are at 5/4 for that match despite the fact that they are at home and finished ahead of the Lions on the Currie Cup log.

Meanwhile, the Sharks, at 2/7, are overwhelming favourites to beat the Blue Bulls (13/5)

In terms of odds to win the tournament, the Sharks are 11/10 favourites followed by the Golden Lions at 2/1, Western Province (4/1) and the Blue Bulls (8/1).

Saturday's first semi-final between the Sharks and Blue Bulls kicks off at 14:30 while the WP v Lions clash is scheduled for 17:00.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
