Cape Town - Western Province exposed the Golden Lions' lack of depth with a comprehensive Currie Cup victory at Newlands on Friday night.
WP won 39-3 after leading 22-3 at half-time.

WP scored six tries through centre Huw Jones (2), flank Cobus Wiese, wing Seabelo Senatla (2) and scrumhalf Jano Vermaak. Flyhalf Damien Willemse added two conversions and a penalty while fullback SP Marais was also on target with a conversion.
Despite missing a number of players on Springbok duty and dominating possession for large parts of the 80 minutes, the Golden Lions returned home to Johannesburg with a solitary penalty by flyhalf Jaco van der Walt.
WP picked up a full-house of five points for their victory and moved to third in the standings, while the Golden Lions left empty-handed and remain sixth in the seven-team Currie Cup log.
