PE nears sell-out for Boks v Pumas

Cape Town - There are just 3 000 tickets left for Saturday's Rugby Championship clash between the Springboks and Argentina at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

Capacity at the ground is 45 000, and Sport24 understands that by Friday morning almost 42 000 tickets had been sold.

With kick-off at 17:05 on Saturday, SA Rugby and Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium management will be hoping that there is enough time left to sell out the remainder of the tickets.

Earlier this week, Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber CEO Prince Matonsi said that PE was hoping for an injection of R150 million into its economy following the successful staging of the game.

That is roughly the figure PE is believed to have cashed in on in 2016 when they hosted the third Test between the Boks v Ireland.

While nothing has been confirmed yet, Matonsi said that PE was also expecting to host another three Test matches over the next four years.

This will be the fifth Test match played at the venue since 2011.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
