Blues bolster scrumhalf stocks

Cape Town - The Blues have announced the signing of Otago former Hawkes Bay and current scrumhalf Jonathan Ruru for next year's Super Rugby campaign.

Ruru will join current scrumhalves Augustine Pulu and Sam Nock in the Blues squad.

Ruru moved to Otago from Hawke's Bay last year where he has become a regular fixture in their Mitre 10 Cup team, and also played in the All Blacks Sevens side last year.

“Jonathan is a fierce competitor who we believe has the skill-set and the physical attributes we are looking for and will compliment both Augustine and Sam in our squad,” said Blues head coach Tana Umaga.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
