WP lock to join Rassie at Munster

Cape Town - Western Province and Stormers lock Jean Kleyn is set to leave the Cape side to join Irish club Munster.

According to Netwerk24, WP Rugby has opted to release Kleyn from his contract in order for him to join his new team after this year's Super Rugby competition.

Kleyn, who was behind Eben Etzebeth in the pecking order at the Stormers, is believed to have set his sights on eventually representing Ireland.

At Munster he will join up with for Stormers coach and SARU high performance manager Rassie Erasmus, who was recently appointed as Munster’s director of rugby on a three-year deal.

The 22-year-old Kleyn has been at Western Province since 2012 and made his Stormers debut in 2014.
