Bulls blow, Pollard out of Super Rugby

Cape Town - Bulls and Springbok flyhalf Handre Pollard has been ruled out of the Super Rugby season as well as the Springboks’ June Test series against Ireland.

According to SuperSport.com, Pollard tore his knee ligaments during a freak training ground accident at Loftus Versfeld on Monday.

Pollard, 21, was just beginning his recovery after a shoulder injury and would have been reassessed in a fortnight’s time, but a simple passing exercise without contact turned into a nightmare for coach Nollis Marais.

Pollard had recently returned to the Bulls following a stint with the NTT Docomo Red Hurricanes in Japan.

Pollard boasts 20 Test caps for the Springboks since making his debut against Scotland in June 2014.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
