Toulon victory comes at a cost to the Sharks

Cape Town - Although they beat European champions Toulon by 29-21 in a warm-up fixture in France on Friday, the match has left a number of Sharks players, most notably captain Pat Lambie, injured.

Lambie is suspected to have an AC joint separation of the right shoulder and is returning to South Africa to have further scans and a full assessment of the injury.

He will be joined by Francois Kleinhans (torn bicep), Ruan Botha (hip injury) and Giant Mtyanda (fractured cheekbone).

No date has been set for any of the players return to action.

The Sharks play their first Super Rugby fixture away to the Southern Kings on 27 February.
