Cape Town - Bafana Bafana head coach Stuart Baxter believes that Ajax Amsterdam forward Thulani Serero should find a new club if he wants to be considered for the national team.
The 27-year-old was a hot favourite during Shakes Mashaba tenure despite finding it hard to break into the Amsterdam first team.
However, Baxter admits that selecting the former Ajax Cape Town forward would have been unfair to the rest of the squad.
“You’ll see I have not selected Thulani Serero,” said Baxter after announcing his first 25-man squad.
“I have had contact with him and notified him that I don’t think it is fair on him or the rest of the squad, when you’ve had 800 minutes of football at top level over the last one year.
“I will not be selecting him for this game but I did tell him that I’ll tell you guys (the media) that I think he is one of our biggest talents.
“Once he gets a new address (transferred to a new club) I look forward to working with him.”
