Cape Town - Ruben Loftus-Cheek believes he made the right call to leave Premier League champions Chelsea for Crystal Palace this transfer window.
The 21-year-old endured a difficult time at the Blues, making only six Premier League appearances last season having come through the club's youth setup, and has now left on loan.
The midfielder is eager to show his worth at the Eagles where he has already played a full 90 minutes in their Premier League opener, which they lost 3-0 to Huddersfield.
"It's tough being at Chelsea. I work hard every day in training," he told Sky Sports. "It's a massive club with really good players so you don't get the opportunity every weekend.
"Coming to Palace, I'm really excited to be playing. There's still massive competition here."
When then asked whether he sees a future at his parent club, Loftus-Cheek added: "Yeah, definitely. Chelsea are my club, I support them. Right now I'm fully committed to Palace and whatever happens, who knows?
"I could have gone earlier and who knows what could have happened? I didn't and decided to stay. I'm getting older and now was the time to leave."
