Remy joins Crystal Palace on loan

Cape Town - Loic Remy has reunited with former boss Alan Pardew at Crystal Palace after signing on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The 29-year-old France international, who began his career with Lyon, first linked up with Pardew at Newcastle on loan from Queens Park Rangers in 2013.

He subsequently joined Chelsea the following season, and made a significant impact with seven Premier League goals in just eight starts en route to the Blues winning the title.

In total he scored 12 times in 47 appearances, and also claimed the League Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.

However, he has since fallen behind Diego Costa and Michy Batshuayi in the Blues pecking order this season, and is delighted to be given a fresh start at Palace.

He told the club's official website: "This is a very good chance for me and a big opportunity. It was very important to know Alan Pardew as he is a very good manager and I am happy to be here."

Pardew added: "Loic has been a target of mine throughout this transfer window and I’m delighted the deal has been done.

"I brought him to Newcastle so I know what he is capable of and I am convinced he will be a quality addition to our squad as we evolve.

"Loic has international and Champions League experience as well as being a Premier League title winner and is the latest example of the high calibre of players we have brought into the club during this transfer window."

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
