Cape Town - Everton have finally managed to make a signing on an incredibly frustrating transfer deadline day for the Toffees as striker Enner Valencia joins on loan.
The Merseyside club had previously failed in their attempts to sign Napoli's Manolo Gabbiadini, Porto's Yacine Brahimi and were usurped at the last minute by Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Moussa Sissoko's signature.
Valencia initially joins on a season-long loan deal from West Ham, but Everton retain the right to make the transfer permanent at any point during the loan for a fee believed to be in the region of £14.5m.
The 25-year-old will meet up with his new teammates after the international break as is currently with the Ecuador squad for World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Peru.
