Cape Town City snap up local teenage duo

Cape Town - Cape Town City have announced the signing of teenage duo Shane Roberts and Taariq George.

The news confirmed on Friday morning revealed that the 18-year-old Roberts and 17-year-old George turned down offers from other Premiership clubs and European interest in order to ply their trade in their home town.

"The young men, aged 18 and 17 respectively, are amongst the most gifted and promising talents in the country," read a statement from City.

"The duo have attracted interest from other PSL clubs and Europe, but have chosen to forge their professional football careers in the Blue&Gold.

"We are happy once again to promote the very best in Cape Football talent, and are certain that under the roof of Cape Town City FC these boys will achieve great things."
