Cape Town - Sundowns have expressed hope that forwards Leonardo Castro and Yannick Zakri can find their best form in time for Saturday's showdown with Kaizer Chiefs.
The Brazilians are currently in fifth position and have a two point deficit behind Amakhosi, although Pitso Mosimane's men do have the advantage of a number of games in hand.
With that said, both Zakri and Catro are yet to really fire for the African champions in 2016/17. Colombian Castro has featured 11 times in the league without finding the back of the net, while Ivorian Zakri has played nine times in all competitions without scoring.
The club's official website said: "Sundowns, however, have battled to two goalless draws in recent games, and it is in this area that Mosimane will hope his boys click particularly with the return to form of Leonardo Castro, the confidence of Yannick Zakri, and the pace of Thapelo Morena.
"(They will likely be) supporting Tau and Billiat and the slippery Liberian Anthony Laffor who has scored some critical goals for the team. Themba Zwane and Sibusiso Vilakazi are also chomping at the bit for action in such a massive game."
In other team news, Khama Billiat could make his return for Masandawana after recovering from injury. This weekend's encounter will take place at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
The action gets underway from 20:15.
