Kekana: We are an ambitious team

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Hlompho Kekana believes his team has been thriving in the CAF Champions League because they were not considered favourites in their group.

Sundowns are one point away from qualifying for the semi-finals, following wins over Enyimba (2-1) and Zamalek (2-1) in Group B.

The defending Premiership champions lead their group with six points in the competition.

"Well, as Mamelodi Sundowns, we are an ambitious team with a lot of goals we'd like to achieve," Kekana told Soccer Laduma.

"It is not about the opposition but what we have to do in order to achieve our targets. Winning the Champions League is one of the goals we set ourselves this past season.

"We are seen as underdogs in our group considering the amount of experience these other teams have in this competition compared to us.

"All I can say is that we will continue to work hard and ensure that they don't score, while we look to get a goal or two."

Sundowns will face Zamalek at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday evening.
