Cape Town - Bafana Bafana legend Phil Masinga believes Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Hlompho Kekana is too old to earn a lucrative transfer overseas.
Kekana has had an outstanding season which recently culminated in making world headlines with his stunning goal from inside his own half for South Africa against Cameroona and Masinga praised the 30-year-old Kekana for his influential role for the table topping Sundowns.
"I think age counts against him in terms of going to play overseas," Masinga told Goal website.
"He has also not earned a lot of caps for the national team as he is a late starter for Bafana Bafana.
"So, that also makes it very difficult for him to move abroad as in other countries you get a working permit having played a lot for your national team.
"He has had a solid season with Sundowns and I think he will win a lot of trophies. The best thing for him now is to continue writing his own history in the PSL because he has proved over and over that he is a quality player. He can still achieve big with the Tshwane-based outfit."
