Cape Town - Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic is hopeful that midfielder Thamsanqa Sangweni will be available for selection around the middle of October.
Pirates meet Polokwane City in a league match this coming Saturday, but then, due to the international break, only play their next fixture on October 18 when they host Platinum Stars.
Sangweni arrived at Bucs in the off-season and is expected to make a significant impact at the club after his impressive form at previous side Chippa United.
But an injury in the first match of the new campaign, against Chippa, has seen the 28-year-old side-lined ever since.
Sredojevic is however optimistic that the Bafana Bafana-capped player's return is imminent.
"He was injured. He is now back at training and working on his fitness. He should be ready after the international week," the Serbian was quoted saying by KickOff website.
Pirates are third on the table, just a point behind join leaders Golden Arrows and Baroka FC.
