Motaung: We achieved a lot under Ted

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung paid homage to the revered veteran coach Ted Dumitru, who passed away on Thursday.

During his career Dumitru coached the giants of local football including Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

The Romania-born tactician won league titles with Chiefs and Sundowns in 1998 and 2006 respectively.

"Ted arrived for the first time after I recruited him to coach Chiefs in 1985," Motaung told the club's website.

"We achieved a lot under Ted winning several trophies in the 80s. The latest of the achievements came with a back-to-back 2003/4 and 2004/5 Premiership trophies.

"On behalf of Kaizer Chiefs in its entirety, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the families and friends, and football fraternity at large."
