Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns president Patrice Motsepe has revealed the R20 million prize fund for winning the CAF Champions League will be divided among the players.
The Brazilians secured their maiden Champions League title in Africa when they defeated Zamalek 3-1 on aggregate last Sunday.
Sundowns joined Orlando Pirates (in 1995) as only the second South African club to have won the continent's most prestigious club competition.
Nonetheless, Motsepe, a South African mining magnate and billionaire who bought the club in 2004, has said that the prize money will be split among the players however they see fit.
In addition, the 54-year-old urged those involved to invest what they are to receive wisely.
He told Times Live: "All of the $1.5 million (around R20 million), it's all theirs. They must now sit down and start thinking about how they are going to divide that money amongst themselves.
"I just said to them, 'Guys, don't waste the money now. Take some of that money and invest it'."
