Pirates progress will take time, says Ertugral

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral believes the team is still a work in progress after they conceded a late goal to draw 1-1 with Platinum Stars on Tuesday.

The Buccaneers were once again held at home after their goalless draw in their previous game against Cape Town City a week ago.

An injury-time strike from Thobani Kunene snatched a point for Dikwena after Thabiso Kutumela scored for Pirates through a free-kick in the 77th minute.

"It's a process, we are a completely new team and it will take time. The positioning will take time, the pattern will take time and our entries will take time to get used to," Ertugral told KickOff.

"The club didn't have such a great season last year, and we need to rebuild. We need to look into details a little bit better - how can we build the team and make them stronger. I think we enjoy working very much with the players, but it will take time."

Ertugral though, was pleased with the efforts of Kutumela after he scored the Sea Robbers' only goal.

"He brings a lot of scoring opportunities, he just needs some more games. He is not fit, he was injured," the Bucs mentor added.

"I don't think, in this point in time, he can last in a game for 30 minutes. The last time he had cramps at training and he is not hundred percent fit yet."
