Pirates to ditch Jonevret for Micho - reports

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates head coach Kjell Jonevret is set to be replaced by Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic, according to widespread reports.

The Buccaneers had a underwhelming 2016/17 campaign following the sudden departure of Muhsin Ertugral in November last year.

Nearly five months later, club chairperson Irvin Khoza appointed Jonevret as the club's mentor in order to revive the Soweto giants season.

Jonevret has been in charge of 18-games and only guided the Bucanneers to six victories, seven draws and five defeats.

Last month, news surfaced that the Swedes job is under scrutiny after Pirates suffered a 4-1 defeat against SuperSport United in the Nedbank Cup final.

It has been reported that Sredojevic is set to take on his second stint at the Buccaneers having filled the position for seven months from July 2006 to January 2007.

According to TimesLIVE website, Pirates will unveil the 48-year-old Serbian-born as head coach on Monday, July 31.

On Saturday the Sea Robbers take on arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs at a sold out FNB Stadium in a Carling Black Label Champion Cup (CBL) clash.

It is still unknown as to whether Jonevret will be present and assist the winning CBL coach in Pirates technical area.

Kick-off is at 15:30.
