Tau calls for focus from Sundowns

Pretoria - Mamelodi Sundowns in-form striker Percy Tau says it's key for the Brazilians to maintain their focus in pursuit of the Absa Premiership title without getting carried away.

Sundowns kept their winning streak alive when they defeated Platinum Stars 2-1 at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace on Tuesday.

Themba Zwane and Khama Billiat were on target for the Pretoria giants in the midweek clash.

Tau hinted that his team-mates are grateful for the opportunity to compete for another title following their CAF Super Cup glory over TP Mazembe last weekend.

"It's good for the team to keep winning games and credit must go to all of us," said Tau.

"We have another opportunity to compete for another title.

"It was important for us to go to Rustenburg and get all the three points because we're playing the catch up games.

"It'll be good for us to stay focused and respect our opponents without getting carried away."

Sundowns will host high-flying Bidvest Wits in their next Absa Premiership encounter at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.

Kick-off is at 20:15.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
