Venter: Letsoaka is the right man for the job

Cape Town - Danny Venter believes that new coach Serame Letsoaka is the right man for Free State Stars, citing his vast coaching experience and history with the club.

The Bethlehem based-outfit endured a tough first half of the Premiership campaign, and currently languish in 14th spot on the table - having amassed 14 points from a possible 45.

Stars' poor form-guide resulted in the dismissal of coaches Denis Lavagne and Giovanni Solinas, with Solinas most recently making way for Letsoaka.

"We welcome the new coach Serame Letsoaka," Venter told the club's official website.

"He brings vast experience in the team, he has been around and most importantly he knows the culture of the club having played and captained the team," he added.

El La Koto becomes the former U23 national team boss' third club in South Africa, having previously been in charge at Bloemfontein Celtic and Golden Arrows.

The 53-year-old mentor also served as assistant coach to Gordon Igesund for both SuperSport United and Bafana Bafana.

"He takes his job seriously, his preparations are on points and he certainly knows what he is doing," Venter continued.

"I have no doubt that he will do well in the team, of course with our support.

"We certainly want to move away from the relegation zone and we believe coach Serame is the right man to get this team out of the danger," Venter concluded.

Free State Stars travel to Johannesburg to take on Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday, February 7.

Kick off is at 19:30.
