Anderson beaten in Chengdu quarters

Cape Town - South Africa's Kevin Anderson was beaten by Serbia's Viktor Troicki in the quarter-finals of the Chengdu Open in China on Friday.

Troicki, the sixth seed, won in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (7/4).

Toicki will face 20-year-old Russian Karen Khachanov in the semi-finals, after the world No 101 upset Spain's Feliciano Lopez 6-3, 6-4.

Anderson, the world No 45, had reached the quarter-finals after saving two match points in his match against Australia's Nick Kyrgios on Thursday.

Anderson defeated Australia's Jordan Thompson 6-2, 6-4 in the first round on Monday.
