Anderson pulls out of Paris Masters

Cape Town - South Africa's Kevin Anderson has pulled out of next week's Paris Masters, bringing and end to what has been a difficult season.

The reason for his decision is not quite clear at this stage, but it has been a tough season for Anderson in which he has battled with injury throughout.

Having started 2016 ranked 12th in the world, Anderson has slipped down to 52nd after having knee, shoulder and ankle problems.

He played in all four of the year's grand slams, but was eliminated in the first round at the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon. He made it through to the third round of the US Open.

Anderson tweeted news of his withdrawal to his 50 600 followers on Friday.

He labeled 2016 as "challenging" and thanked his fans for the support.
