Knights and Lions frustrated by weather

Cape Town - The Knights and the Highveld Lions saw their One-Day Cup playoff prospects suffer a blow after their latest meeting in Bloemfontein was washed out by rain on Saturday.

Only 9.3 overs were possible at the Mangaung Oval before the first rain delay arrived.

And after several signs suggested that the game could be about to resume, it never did as umpires Greg Davidson and Johan Cloete eventually called time in the Free State.

The visitors had progressed to 22 for one during the overs that had been bowled, but they were left frustrated in their bid for a result.

The two teams remained at the bottom of the standings, with the Johannesburg-based side fifth on 10 points from eight games and the hosts sixth with four point from six matches.
