Cape Town - Shaun von Berg may be 31-years-old, but he is enjoying a breakthrough period in his career currently.
The leg-spinner was a part of the Proteas Test squad that lost 2-0 in Sri Lanka, and he is currently part of the South Africa 'A' side doing battle against India.
Now that he is being noticed a bit more, some pundits have drawn comparisons in action between Von Berg and legendary Australian spinner Shane Warne.
And, speaking to Cricinfo, Von Berg remembers the time he met Warne in Kent.
The chance meeting happened all the way back in 2006 in Kent when Von Berg was fresh out of school and Warne was playing county cricket with Hampshire.
"I was so young, so I didn't realise what had happened. It just did not sink in," the website quoted Von Berg as saying.
"But if I meet Warnie today, I will definitely enjoy it more. I was just out of school and it felt surreal back at the Kent nets."
Von Berg also spoke about his Test call-up for Sri Lanka, even if he didn't get on the field.
"I was just sitting at home and watching TV with my wife when the selector called," he said.
"I was both surprised and happy, and it took about two days to sink in because it got announced in the media only two days after I was informed of my inclusion."
