Fan removed from Newlands after sledging Warner

Cape Town - David Warner has been involved in another staircase altercation ... this time with a spectator at Newlands.

The incident happened on Friday afternoon as Warner was making his way back to the pavilion having been bowled by Kagiso Rabada in quite spectacular fashion.

Rabada had sent Warner's off-stump cartwheeling backwards, but not before the Australian opener had smashed 30 off just 14 balls.

As Warner was walking up the staircase towards the Australian dressing room, a man clapped him off the field.

What the man said is not clear, but it was enough to rile the left-hander.

Warner immediately turned towards the man and said something back before heading off back up the stairs.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) have since confirmed to Sport24 that the man in the video has been removed from the stadium, while extra security guards were placed on the staircase after the incident.

It was Warner's staircase altercation with Quinton de Kock during the first Test in Durban that started a series of off and on field issues in the series.

The incident remined of the infamous incident involving Merv Hughes, who in 1994 clashed with a South African fan on the Wanderers staircase.
