CSA announces franchise, provincial fixtures for 2019/20

Cape Town - Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Friday announced the franchise fixtures for both domestic competitions for the 2019/20 season as well as the senior provincial fixtures for both men and women.

"Once again we have dovetailed our franchise fixtures with the Proteas international commitments during the next nine months," commented CSA Chief Executive, Thabang Moroe.

"The four-day series will start in October to coincide with the Proteas Test Series in India. It will take a break from the end of that month and will resume in time for the festive season when England arrive for their Test Series.

"The competition will then take a break at the end of January to allow for the One-Day Cup in February and March when we have a succession of ODIs against England, Australia and India. Once again, the knock-out phase of the One-Day Cup will consist of two semi-finals and a final after the completion of a home and away double round.

"The four-day competition will then have its final two rounds in the last week of March and the first week of April.

"I cannot stress enough the importance of our domestic system and the important role it plays in our talent development pipeline for the Proteas. One only has to look at the case history of Rassie van der Dussen who has been one of the big success stories of the last season," concluded Moroe.
