Cape Town - Cricket South Africa (CSA) has heard with sadness of the passing of Kelly Seymour in Cape Town on Sunday, February 17.
He was 82.
A right arm off-spinner he first came to prominence while studying medicine at the University of Cape Town and represented SA Universities in the tour match against New Zealand in the 1961/62 season, taking 12 wickets in the match, including what turned out to be his career best figures of 7/80 in the first innings.
He became a regular choice for Western Province, and played seven Test matches against Australia and England, finishing his career with 111 first-class wickets.
