WATCH: Warner bats right-handed, smashes Chris Gayle

Cape Town - David Warner shocked the Bangladesh Premier League by batting right-handed against Chris Gayle on Wednesday.

Warner was 47* mid-way through the 19th over when, after struggling to get Gayle away, he switched his stance and began batting right-handed. 

The result was a straight six over Gayle's head that took Warner past 50, while he found the fence with his next two balls to remarkably take Gayle for 14 runs off 3 batting right-handed. 

Warner, who is the captain of Sylhet Sixers, finished on 61* off 36 to guide his side to a victory over Gayle's Rangpur Riders.

"It was one of those things at the back of my mind as I couldn't get Chris away because of his height and the lengths that he was bowling," Warner was quoted as saying on Cricinfo at the post-match presentation.

"I play golf right-handed, so I thought I might as well come and swing and clear the ropes. It came off."
