Oosthuizen withdraws from Scottish Open

Cape Town - A neck injury forced South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen to withdraw from the European Tour's Scottish Open on Thursday.

Oosthuizen took to Twitter to announce his withdrawal.

"So frustrating to have to withdraw from . Neck hasn’t been right this week. On to ," said the 35-year-old.

The South African will now look to recover for next week's Open Championship at Carnoustie.

Oosthuizen has fond memories of the Claret Jug, after hoisting the coveted trophy at the 2010 Open Championship at St. Andrews where he won by seven shots.

Oosthuizen was South Africa's best golfer at last month's US Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Course in New York, finishing tied for 16th.

The Open Championship at Carnoustie tees off from July 19-22.
