Oosthuizen leads SA charge as 6 of 9 miss cut at Pebble Beach

Cape Town - Only three of the nine South Africans to have started the 119th US Open at Pebble Beach made the cut for the weekend.

They were headlined by 2010 Open Championship winner Louis Oosthuizen who fired rounds of 66 and 70 to lie six-under, three shots adrift of halfway leader, American Gary Woodland.

The other South Africans to have made the cut were Erik van Rooyen and Justin Walters who both lie at two-over par, 144.

Oosthuizen will be paired in the third round with SA-born American Aaron Wise at 23:34, while Van Rooyen while have Frenchman Clement Sordet for company (17:42).

Walters will have a marker as his playing "partner" in the first tee time for Round 3 at 16:36.
