Cape Town - Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel has called on Formula 1 fans to give young driver Mick Schumacher time and "let him do his thing" in the face of mounting pressure.
The son of Formula 1 legend, Michael, Mick will step up to Formula 2 this season having signed with Prema.
He is, however, already on the F1 radar with Ferrari also signing him as part of their Driver Academy.

Vettel had the opportunity to see Schumacher in action up close last weekend when the two teamed up for Team Germany at the Race of Champions.
Asked whether he believes Schumacher could be a star of the future, Vettel told reporters: "I think, give him time.
"He's under enough pressure as it is but just give him time and let him do his thing and we'll see what happens."
Meanwhile Autosport is reporting that Schumacher has joined Nicolas Todt's management team, All Road Management.
Other drivers under the All Road Management umbrella include new Ferrari signing Charles Leclerc, who also raced for Prema in F2.
