4 must-watch weekend sporting events

Cape Town - It's the weekend!

But the sporting world never sleeps, so hang on tight and be sure to watch these FOUR events (in no particular order)!

1. ENGLISH PREMIERSHIP

The English Premiership is here to keep us entertained this weekend.

We start off with the reigning champions, Chelsea, host Leicester City (Saturday, 17:00 SA time), an impressive Huddersfield Town battling West Ham United (Saturday, 17:00 SA time) and Tottenham Hotspur take on Everton (Saturday, 19:30 SA time).

On Sunday, we're in for a treat as AFC Bournemouth host Arsenal (15:30 SA time) and the main event for the weekend is when Liverpool play host to the (unbeatable?) log leaders Manchester City (18:00 SA time).

2. SA OPEN

The European Tour and Sunshine Tour year kicks off at the SA Open at Glendower Golf Club with eyes on all home favourites Branden Grace, Charl Schwartzel and Dylan Frittelli.

Will we see a South African lift up back-to-back home titles?

This is a golf tournament you do not want to miss!

3. PRO14

This weekend we'll see the first-ever PRO14 South African derby when the Southern Kings host the Cheetahs.

The last time the two teams faced each other was in July when they made their final Super Rugby appearances.

The Kings desperately seek their first win of the tournament, while the Cheetahs look to climb up their conference log.

Kick-off on Saturday is at 17:00.

4. PROTEAS V INDIA

The Proteas are one-nil up in the three-match Test series against the world No 1 team, India.

Faf du Plessis and his charges will be looking to tame India and seal the series in Centurion.

Play gets underway at 10:00.
