London - The British and Irish Lions' epic 15-15 draw with world champions New Zealand on Saturday saw the series end tied at 1-1.

It is only the second time in 12 visits that they have not lost a series to New Zealand - the 1971 Lions remain the only side to have beaten the All Blacks in a series.

A look at the best Twitter reactions following the final whistle:

"Thought @JonFoxDavies was outstanding today. Clever kicking & massive defense. #LionNZ2017."

- Irish icon Brian O'Driscoll, whose Lions tour of New Zealand in 2005 ended within minutes of the first Test after a controversial tackle by Tana Umaga and Keven Mealamu injured his shoulder.

"Awesome series with great support from both @AllBlacks and @lionsofficial fans, 12yrs is too long for this 2 happen again!"

- All Blacks centre Sonny Bill Williams, whose sending off in the 2nd Test - he was banned for four weeks subsequently - arguably shifted the momentum to the Lions.

"Jonathan Davies has to be player of series. Consistently excellent at all times. Saved the series with his chase down on luamape."

- former England backrow forward Nick Easter.

"Is that it??? No result ?? #Lion2017."

- Former Australian great Matt Giteau.

"WHAT A GAME!!! WHAT A SERIES!!!!! It's been truly phenomenal. My man of the series goes to (Maro) Itoje with (Jonathan) Davies a close second! #Lions2017."

- Maggie Alphonsi, a World Cup winner with England's women's team in 2014.

"Great series @lionsofficial but organise a 4th test or play extra time! #NZLions2017."

- former Liverpool and England footballer Jamie Carragher.

"Truly brilliant game, massive well done to Gatland & all involved, game was special & nobody deserved 2 lose but huge courage from Lions."

- Former Lions coach Clive Woodward, who led the tourists to a disastrous 3-0 loss in New Zealand on their last visit in 2005.

"Do we win overall as we won the unofficial 4th test against the Maori's?!"

- former England flyhalf Andy Goode.

"They should play another one next week! #Lions."

- former England fullback Ben Foden.
