Bulls lock Van Heerden signs deal with Sharks

Durban - The Sharks on Tuesday announced the signing of Bulls lock Ruben van Heerden, who joined the Durban-franchise on a three-year contract.

Last year was a breakthrough year for the 20-year old, who not only represented the SA U/20, but he also made his Super Rugby debut.

Confirming his signing, the Sharks head coach Robert du Preez said: "Ruben is a talented young lock and a great acquisition for the Sharks.

"He is a natural athlete and has all the attributes needed to be a great lock. We welcome him to our Sharks family."

The Sharks next Currie Cup fixture will be on Saturday, September 22 when they host the Golden Lions at Kings Park.

Kick-off is at 17:15.
