Sydney - Former Wallaby star loose forward Phil Waugh was charged with mid-range drink driving in the early hours of Friday morning.
Waugh was pulled over by police at 01:20.
A police spokesperson said the 33-year-old was travelling along Sailors Bay Road, Northbridge, in north Sydney.
He was arrested and taken to Chatswood police station where he was breath tested and returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.083.
Police charged him with mid-range drink driving, his licence was suspended and he will appear at Hornsby Local Court on January 9.
The spokesperson said it is believed there were no other passengers in the car.
Waugh played 79 Tests for Australia between 2000 and 2009.
