Gutted Kings coach: We should have buried them

Cape Town - Southern Kings coach Deon Davids says they were their own worst enemies after losing to Ulster on Saturday.

The Irish club won the PRO14 encounter 43-36 at the Wolfson Stadium in Zwide.

But it was only after surviving an almighty scare from the Kings, who led 22-10 at half-time.

“We lost this one. We should have buried them early,” Davids told Netwerk24.

Two tries in the final 10 minutes saw Ulster sneak victory against an enthusiastic Kings outfit.

“We should not be satisfied with the current level. We have to keep working on our basic skills so we can break through to the next level," Davids continued.

The defeat was the Kings’ eighth in a row in the competition.

Their next match is against Welsh side Scarlets in Port Elizabeth on Sunday, November 26 (17:00 kick-off).
