Spirited Southern Kings beaten by Scarlets

Cape Town - In a tightly fought PRO14 encounter, the Southern Kings were defeated by the Scarlets in their match at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday evening.

The Scarlets won 41-34 after trailing by 20-15 at half-time.

The spirited home side were on top for the majority of the game, but lost their lead and the match in the second-half.

Deon Davids' charges ran in four tries though player of the match Masixole Banda, Yaw Penxe, Harlon Klassen and Bjorn Basson.

Banda was superb with the boot, landing all four conversions and two penalties, however it wasn't enough to get the Kings over the line. 

The Welsh side scored six tries though Dafydd Hughes, Will Boyde, Ioan Nicholas, Werner Kruger, Kieran Hardy and Taylor Davies.

Meanwhile, Dan Jones landed four conversions and a penalty for the defending PRO14 champions.

In next weekend's PRO14 action, the Southern Kings host Leinster on Sunday, November 4 (14:45), while Scarlets travel to Scotland to face Edinburgh on Friday, November 2 (21:35 SA time).
