Blitzboks off to a flyer in Singapore Sevens

Cape Town - Skipper Siviwe Soyizwapi got the Blitzboks off to a winning start in the Singapore Sevens as they defeated Scotland on Saturday morning.

The Blitzboks won 36-10 after leading 12-10 at half-time.

South Africa scored six tries through Branco Du Preez, Werner Kok, Impi Visser, Angelo Davids and two tries from Soyizwapi.

Du Preez landed two conversions with Selvyn Davids kicking another conversion over.

Max McFarland scored a brace for the Scottish side, however they couldn't get past a solid Blitzboks defence.

The Blitzboks take on Canada (09:40 SA time) and Fiji (13:28 SA time) in their other Pool A encounters.
