According to the Rapport newspaper, new SA Rugby Director of Rugby, Rassie Erasmus, has made his recommendations as to where the Springboks' three home matches in the 2020 tournament should be held.

The newspaper adds that the Springboks are likely to play Argentina at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on August 8 and Australia at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on September 19.

The All Blacks clash in Nelspruit is scheduled for September 26.

Should Erasmus' suggestions be approved, it would mean all three Tests would be staged at altitude.

The Springboks, who are the defending Rugby Championship winners, have won all three of their Tests to date at the Mbombela Stadium - which was built to host matches during the 2010 Soccer World Cup - against Scotland (2013), Wales (2014) and Argentina (2016).

The stadium has a capacity of just shy of 41 000.

Prior to the Rugby Championship, the Springboks are set to play Scotland at Newlands in Cape Town on July 4 and at Kings Park in Durban a week later.

If true, Scotland will be the last opponents the Springboks face at Newlands before the stadium is demolished and the move is made to the Cape Town Stadium - another stadium erected for the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

The Springboks' third and final mid-year Test against Tier 2 nation, Georgia, on July 18 is expected to take place at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
