Cape Town - Sonny Bill Williams is unlikely to leave rugby union and return to rugby league, his friend and training partner Anthony Mundane has said.
Williams played rugby league for the Canterbury Bulldogs between 2004 and 2008, before switching codes to rugby union.
He made a brief return to league playing for the Sydney Roosters in 2013/14, but looks unlikely to do so again.
"I feel he'll stay in rugby," Mundine, a former NRL player turned professional boxer, told the Stuff.co.nz website.
"As great as rugby league is, rugby is the world game. Lots of countries play it all over Europe and South Africa, it's massive. I went to South Africa to watch him play a (Super Rugby) game and they had fans waiting outside the hotel room. It's a big thing. It's the biggest sport over there. It's crazy."
Williams, 32 has played 46 Tests for the All Blacks.
He is currently contracted to the Blues in Super Rugby, having previously represented the Chiefs and Crusaders.
