Cape Town - Six more players have committed their immediate futures to the Lions by signing new contracts with the union.

Over the course of three days, the Lions announced that flyhalf Elton Jantjies, centre Lionel Mapoe, No 8 Warren Whiteley, hooker Malcolm Marx, scrumhalf Ross Cronje, wing Aphiwe Dyantyi, flank Cyle Brink, lock Marvin Orie, wing Courtnall Skosan, scrumhalf Dillon Smit, flank Kwagga Smith, fullback Andries Coetzee, wing Ruan Combrinck and prop Dylan Smith would remain with the 2018 Super Rugby runners-up.
Late on Wednesday, the Lions announced that Nic Groom, Marnus Schoeman (effective November 1), Lourens Erasmus, Harold Vorster, Sylvian Mahuza and Hacjivah Dayimani all put pen to paper for the Johannesburg-franchise.
The signings are certainly good news for the union who have lost a number of players overseas including flank Jaco Kriel, lock Franco Mostert, centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg and props Ruan Dreyer and Jacques van Rooyen.
